Confirmation

Confirmation is the journey of learning and growth that takes a young person from the “kid’s club” to the “adult’s club.” Students spend three years – 6th-8th grade – learning about the Old Testament of the Bible, the New Testament of the Bible, and Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. The Small Catechism covers the basics of the faith: The Ten Commandments, The Lord’s Prayer, The Apostle’s Creed, Baptism, and Holy Communion.
Confirmation participants also complete [*sermon reflections]to help focus their faith lens, memorization to carry the basics with them wherever they go, and service projects to put their faith to work. They spend their 8th & 9th grade years accompanying a mentor to figure out where their gifts and interests intersect with the needs of the congregation and community.

In the fall of their 10th grade year, on Reformation Sunday, we celebrate together as these youth complete one journey and begin another – making promises to God to grow in their faith and to share God’s love for a lifetime.

Please check out the link below for the current year’s Confirmation Schedule. Also, for students, you can find the last three weeks’ worth of lessons (Sundays and Wednesdays) below for make-up work if you were absent.
