American Lutheran Church (ELCA): Online Bible Study

Welcome to American Lutheran’s first shot at an online Bible study! We know that many of us are already involved on Sunday mornings between services, and can’t come to the education times presented then. And we know how crazy-busy our lives can be, and that our weeknights are full to overflowing. So how can we dive in (or wade in!) to God’s Word all together in a world like ours?

Answer: in the virtual world! – at least as a starting place. This online Bible study is an opportunity to do more than just devotion – you and a book – and actually interact with other people of faith, so that we can all learn from each other’s interactions with the Word. So, here’s what we’ve got for you:

We’ll be looking at a short, 3-session series called “Rediscovering the Book of Faith.” It tells us about how the Bible came to be the way it is, Old Testament + New Testament, 2,000+ years later. Each session has a really cool video clip to introduce it, so we made a deal with the publisher: they’ll let us put the video online, no copyright issues, as long as people still use the little booklets that come with it. So, get yourself a booklet from the church office (they’re $5, but if you can’t afford it, we’ll give it to you), and then get online.

You’ll have 2 weeks for each session –
